Extended Shear Tabs
The objective of this research is to better characterize the behaviour of the extended shear tab (EST) connection to facilitate a refinement of design recommendations. This research will include a thorough literature review, development of a finite element model, verification of the model using results in vailable literature and a parametric study which will investigate parameters not previously studied. The research is expected to lead to appropriate recommendations for the design of extended shear tabs.
