Exterior view of Braid Station
Project Description Project Team
The Braid Station uses a combination of structural steel and glue laminated timbers to create the structure for the enclosure. The station uses daylight as the primary source of lighting with large glazed wall sections as well as skylighting down the central part of the platform.
Braid StationBraid Station on the Vancouver Millennium Line, uses a mixture of an exposed steel support system with glulam beams to create a dynamic station. This is in keeping with the competition brief that encouraged use of these materials in the stations. Steel was to be used where the materials would come into contact with the public, due to its higher level of durability.
