Project Description
Sperling Station makes sole use of structural steel framing to create the architectural expression of the station. Vertical members use round HSS sections. The primary spanning members use wide flange sections.
No centre support system is used. The WF beams clear span across both waiting platforms as well as the double set of tracks that runs down the centre of the station. A clerestory breaks the building half way down its length, adding interest to the building as well as allowing in more daylight.
