SSEF Scholarship Programs

The Steel Structures Education Foundation is committed to providing funding for different engineering and architecture students who demonstrate a keen interest, a commitment and high-academic qualifications to develop a research or studio project. Two such programmes include the SSEF G.J. Jackson Fellowships and the SSEF Architecture Scholarships.

G.J. Jackson Fellowship

The G.J. Jackson Fellowship is a prestigious award, that was established in 1987 and is presented annually by the SSEF in memory of the late Geoffrey J. Jackson.  Mr. Jackson was for many years a leader in the Canadian structural steel fabrication insustry, and through his vision and dedication, was the driving force in establishing the SSEF.

SSEF Architecture Scholarships

In recognition of high levels of scholarship in Steel Design by students of architecture across Canada, in 2005 SSEF initiated a pilot program to award scholarships to students who have demonstrated outstanding work in the area of Steel Design. The precise criteria for the award was developed by the individual School and Faculty/Administration.

Several regions also offer specific scholarship programmes, either at the undergraduate or graduate level. We recommend that you contact the
Regional Director for your region to find out more.
